Animation Fundamentals
First project

For our first project of animation fundamentals, it is a stop motion project. We were told to work as a class since we only have 8 people in total. After we were briefed, we started to discuss with each other on how to approach the project itself. We first decided that we would split the gif into different parts and groups of 2 would handle each of their own parts so we could compile it at the end. After that we discussed on what materials we should use for the stop motion. We listed out a few like candy, food and others. We decided in the end to use floral stuff and other nature things like rocks, seeds and stuff. Below is the original gif.

Over the course of a few weeks, we started to stay back so that we could work on the project. I paired up with Wafir for one of the parts. We have used the photography studio to work on our project. We first set up the camera and then we proceeded to discuss where and how we should shoot the stop motion. We first set up a warm coloured light and then we proceeded to the background. We were in a dilemma on what kind of background we would wanna use. We first tried a pastel background. However it didn't really make the the flowers pop. We then tried to use the short brown round table in the photography studio but it reflects the lights, which got in the way of filming We then found a piece of pdf board lying around so we decided to try it out and we like it. Wafir bought some of the materials that we needed.

For the bigger dots, we used petals, the smaller dots and lines we used flower seeds/fertilizer and kuaci seeds. We did these over the course of a few weeks. We honestly had some trouble but in the end it was all good.
